Using at Christmas

It’s safe to say 2020 has been a challenging and very strange year for everyone. And while Christmas this year is going to look a bit different than many of us are used to, we want to help make your Christmas celebrations as good as they can be, which is why we’ve put this post together to highlight the benefits of  in facilitating virtual Christmas catch-ups.

We also happen to think that’s meeting pages could be a massive help in organising any of your events - physical or virtual - this Christmas season. Plus, we’ve compiled a list of online games you can play with your family and friends, because who said that you can’t still enjoy some friendly competition?

Use Emma’s meeting pages to easily organise virtual festive catch-ups

We know it’s not quite the same as the in-person get-togethers you’d be used to attending this time of year, but, every little helps, right? That’s why we’re encouraging you to use’s meeting pages to easily arrange virtual catch-ups with your friends, family and colleagues this Christmas period. All you need to do is set up a meeting page which will have all the information your friends and family need, to join you for a festive catch-up. Plus, for those who will be travelling, let calculate the most efficient route and avoid any holdups. After all, we all know what Christmas traffic can be like. Then, all that will be left to do is adorn your festive wear, pour a glass of your favourite tipple, and enjoy.

Socialising with colleagues

As the big office parties are out the window this year, take your catch-ups virtual! After a year of online meetings for business conversations, getting together with your colleagues online in a social setting, can make a really nice change.

Socialising in general this year has been met with many obstacles, and virtual catch ups have been a lifeline. In a professional setting, this has been particularly true for those who moved from working in an office, to working at home. When you’re used to being surrounded by people in a buzzing office, working at home without your colleagues or teammates can take some adjusting. That’s why we think it’s especially important this year to have that catch up with your work bestie, in a less formal setting, and enjoy having some conversation that isn’t about work.

And what better way to organise these catch-ups, than Emma’s meeting pages? Avoid the back and forth emails trying to establish a good time; just send them your meeting page link and let Emma work out the most suitable time for you.

Family catch-ups

Seeing family at Christmas will be taking several forms this year. Some will be travelling within their allocated households, and others will be hunkering down at home and avoiding the hustle and bustle of Christmas travel.

If you’ve ever travelled at Christmas, you’ll know the feeling when you’ve finally got every family member, all the presents and all the food packed into the car, to hit the road and find that what feels like every other family has had the same idea and left at the same time as you. Christmas traffic is something we all want to avoid! So this year, why not book your time out with and have your travel time calculated automatically. That way, you’ll know when you’ll need to leave and what the best route at that time will be.

For those whose large family gatherings have had to be reshuffled, move your gathering online and have family members attend a virtual catch-up. You may be sat within different physical households, but you can still enjoy time with your extended family via an online meeting. Use your meeting page link to easily arrange a catch up with each household.

Games you can play

Is it really Christmas without games? We can’t say that board games will be all that feasible for your online catch up, but we can recommend some online ones! So here’s our list of games to play virtually this year:

Scattegories: You have 60 seconds, 5 categories and 1 letter; you must then come up with a word that falls into the category, and starts with the chosen letter. Set up a new game, get your shareable link, invite your family and friends and enjoy!

Trivia: Use this random trivia generator to come up with a whole host of questions to ask your family and friends. Have one person on the site asking questions, and have everyone else give their answer either verbally or in the meeting chat. Just tap on the question to reveal the answer!

Brightful: Brightful have a huge range of online games, and even a Holiday-themed section. They are designed specifically for online meetings and it’s super easy to share and invite family and friends.

Charades: Who said Charades can’t be played virtually?! Use this Charades generator and enjoy watching your family and friends try and act out the word or phrase!

It might take a bit of creativity, but we’re sure either from the list above, or from other sources online, you’ll be able to find your family favourite and still be able to play it this year.

We know Christmas this year won’t be what many of us are used to, but we truly hope that you all stay safe and healthy, and manage to enjoy whatever celebrations you have. If you want to reap the benefits of using this Christmas, sign up here to try it free for 14 days.
